Stove Top Popcorn

Stove Top Popcorn

Stove Top Popcorn

One of my favorite memories from my childhood is going to stay at my grandma's. She would always load us up with our favorite things to eat. Late at night, while watching Wheel of Fortune, she would make us stove popped popcorn, or pop-a-corn, as she called it in her broken English. To this day, popcorn is still one of my favorite snacks!

Ingredients:

Canola Oil
Popcorn kernels
Salt

Directions:

Place oil in a medium sauce pan over medium/high heat, just enough to coat the bottom of pan.
Add a few shakes of salt to oil.
Put a few kernels in the pan and wait for them to pop.
Once your few kernels have popped remove from heat, add the remaining kernels, and place lid on top.
Wait about 30 seconds before returning to heat.
At this point, all of your popcorn should start popping pretty soon.
Once pops have ceased, remove from heat, pour into bowl and enjoy!
